ASSIST (www.assist.org)

The ASSIST system is the official statewide database and online resource that shows prospective California transfer students how courses they complete at a California community college may be used to satisfy elective, general education and major requirements at California's public universities. ASSIST addresses student concerns about transferring between institutions by providing specific information that indicates which Pasadena City College courses are transferable and how they can be applied at any number of California State University and University of California campuses. In many instances, ASSIST also offers current major-specific information which may be helpful to students planning lower-division coursework for transfer into specific majors at a CSU or UC campus. ASSIST also provides access to system-wide general education patterns such as the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) and the CSU General Education-Breadth (CSU GE) Course Lists, as well as campus specific general education requirements for select CSU and UC campuses. ASSIST is considered the official repository of articulation agreements and should be considered the primary source of articulation information; all other sources should be consistent with the information on ASSIST.

Students can visit ASSIST at www.assist.org and are advised to consult with Academic Counselors in the Counseling Center or Transfer Center to get assistance with understanding the articulation agreements.
