The VESL department provides integrated instruction in all English language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) with a focus on the vocabulary and communication skills needed for employment or further education in a career field. We offer specific Certificate of Competency programs in VESL Health Care, VESL Child Care, and VESL Green Construction, as well as a general VESL Work Readiness and Communication Skills Certificate of Competency program to help adult immigrants successfully obtain and main employment in any field.  VESL programs take an active, hands-on approach to learning and include activities such as individual and team projects, field trips, vocational class and lab observations, guest speakers and volunteer opportunities.
