The basics of graphic design. Covers the history of graphic design, design principles, creative thinking, and typography. Beginner level hands-on training in current design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) Emphasis on fundamental skills and application of techniques by creating basic design projects. This is one of two courses in the Basic Graphic Design certificate program. Total of 54 lecture hours.
Intermediate skills of graphic design. Emphasis on design concepts, visual communication, basic web design, portfolio development, and careers in graphic design. Intermediate level hands-on training in current design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) Recommended for students who are enrolled in or have completed GRFN 3001, or have prior experience with design software. This is one of two courses in the Basic Graphic Design certificate program. Total of 54 lecture hours.
