Electric vehicle (EV) history, industry and vocabulary related to EV chargers. Topics include the different types of batteries, chargers, connectors, charge levels, and EV charger location and communication applications. Total of 36 hours lecture.
Components and functions of EVs and EV charging systems, fundamental principles of electrical energy, and application of energy principles to EV charging systems. Overview of applicable federal, state and local codes and standards, including NEC (National Electrical Code) Article 625. Total of 45 hours lecture.
Fundamental health and safety issues, prevention and abatement strategies, including hazard reporting procedures for EV Charging Station Technicians. Includes training and certification in OSHA10 (General Industry), NFPA 70e, and First Aid/CPR. Total of 54 hours lecture.
Complete the service call cycle and the repair work order process efficiently. Topics include: fault codes, service calls, troubleshooting, work order process, and reporting. Total of 36 lecture hours.
