ARBC 001  ELEMENTARY ARABIC - LEVEL 1

Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) with a focus on communication skills and the basic structure of the Arabic language. Includes the alphabet, pronunciation, simple oral communication, reading simple texts, the fundamentals of Arabic grammar and other basic language skills. Stress on the the links between language and culture and introduces the language within cultural contexts. Total of 90 hours lecture.

ARBC 002  ELEMENTARY ARABIC - LEVEL 2

Prerequisite(s): ARBC 001 or placement the foreign language assessment process

Continuation of Arabic 001. Expands students' skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Modern Standard Arabic. Further training and practice in grammar, composition, oral discourse, and reading. Provides insights into the customs, traditions, and culture of the Arabic speaking world. Total of 90 hours lecture.
