The EKG Technician program educates students with didactic and laboratory experience. The program encompasses emerging and innovative technology in preparation for a healthcare career as an EKG Technician. The program curriculum is designed to meet the standards established by the ASPT Electrocardiography Technician exam and National EKG Technician Certification exam.

Successful completion of this program will qualify the student for the national EKG certification examination and work as an entry level EKG technician. The EKG Technician program provides the student with the necessary skills to seek entry-level employment in hospitals (general medical and surgical hospitals), offices of physicians, outpatient care centers, diagnostic labs, and all other ambulatory healthcare services.

Student Selection and Fees

Requirements for Admission into the EKG Technician Program:

  1. Must be18 years or older
  2. High school diploma or equivalent

Fees:

  • 4 units+ (refer to school website for current fees: unit cost, health, parking, etc.)
  • Textbooks: approximately - $120

An Occupational Skills Certificate is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
