The program prepares individuals for entry into Construction Trades Readiness union-affiliated construction and building trades a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to occupational safety, trade awareness, and foundational skills. The program introduces the structure and roles of trade unions, emphasizing career pathways and readiness aligned with the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum. Through hands-on lab activities and real-world scenarios, students will develop essential skills in carpentry, masonry, and mechanical work while exploring their interests and aptitudes in the construction industry. This certificate is ideal for those preparing for union apprenticeship programs or entry-level positions in the construction trades.


A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon completion of all required courses.

Program Outcomes

  • Apply OSHA 29 CFR 1926 safety standards and demonstrate safe work practices in simulated construction environments.
  • Identify and respond to construction site hazards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and GHS pictograms.
