The ESLN Level 5 Certificate of Competency program provides integrated instruction in listening, speaking, reading and writing English language skills at an advanced level. The emphasis is on key grammar and vocabulary to enable advanced language learners to communicate effectively in the classroom, community and workplace.
A Certificate of Competency is awarded upon completion of all required courses. Two elective courses are available for additional advanced language development.

Program Outcomes

• Evaluate and summarize the narration of advanced level audio materials containing authentic speech in English.
• Communicate orally at an advanced level of proficiency in speaking and pronunciation.
• Assess and utilize appropriate strategies to interpret advanced level vocabulary and reading passages.
• Write academic and life skills texts integrating advanced level grammar and sentence structures.
