The ESLN Level 3 Certificate of Competency program provides integrated instruction in
listening, speaking, reading and writing English language skills at a low intermediate
level. The emphasis is on key grammar and vocabulary to enable low intermediate language learners to communicate effectively in the classroom, community and workplace.

A Certificate of Competency is awarded upon completion of all required courses.

• Evaluate and summarize the narration of low intermediate level audio materials containing authentic speech in English.
• Communicate orally at a low intermediate level of proficiency in speaking and pronunciation.
• Assess and utilize appropriate strategies to interpret low intermediate level vocabulary and reading passages.
• Write academic, workplace and life skills texts integrating low intermediate level grammar and sentence structures.
