Workplace Employability Skills for Students with Developmental Differences – Certificate of Completion

This program is designed for adults with developmental and/or intellectual differences who have an interest in finding realistic and meaningful employment. In this program, students will practice successful soft skills and learn strategies to deal appropriately in interactions with co-workers, supervisors, and customers. They will examine self-advocacy skills, discuss assertiveness and conflict resolution, learn about stress triggers and discover coping strategies, and identify rights in a workplace environment. 

Program Outcomes 

  • Explore internal and external motivating factors of successful employees and practice successful workplace interactions.
  • Examine and discuss workplace problems and possible solutions.
  • Discuss the benefits of self-advocacy and being a self-advocate.
  • Explain the rights of disabled persons and acts of discrimination in the workplace.
