Exploration of the dynamic world of popular music through the lens of keyboard skills in this engaging and hands-on course. This class aims to develop fundamental keyboard skills essential for playing and interpreting popular music genres, reading and understanding written music, analyzing important recordings and interacting with current music technology. Total of 27 hours lecture and 27 hours laboratory.

Rehearsal, performance and critique of contemporary musical styles using written arrangements and lead sheets. Study of important popular musical repertoire. Total of 54 hours activity and 18 hours laboratory. Maximum credit 6 units, 1.5 units each semester. This course may be scheduled using the "To Be Arranged" (TBA) scheduling format.
