1013.00The program prepares students with a portfolio to enter the product design profession as an entry-level designer. The courses develop a broad range of skills to seek employment in such diverse industries as product, transportation, environmental, entertainment and apparel/accessories design. Projects emphasize creativity, function, environmental, and social concerns.
Portfolios can also be used for transfer application to four-year and graduate programs.
A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon successful completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.
Program Outcomes
- Understand the innovative purpose of the product design profession and its integral role in the business world.
- Create hands-on projects that demonstrate product design processes which include problem definition, research, concept development and refinement, and final presentation.
- Analyze, evaluate and improve designs through the critique process.
